Awasom Named to Hula Bowl Roster

(01-05-05) - North Texas senior defensive end Adrian Awasom was selected to play in the Hula Bowl held in War Memorial Stadium in Maui, Hawaii.
The collegiate all-star game will showcase many of the nation's top players and will be broadcast on ESPN 2 at
Awasom led the Mean Green defense back to the New Orleans Bowl with a team leading 14 tackles for loss and eight sacks.
He was selected to the selected to Sun Belt All-Conference first team and was the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
Although often facing double teams, the defensive captain was consistently in the opposing backfield. He leads the Mean Green in quarterback hurries and has recovered two fumbles this season.
Awasom was named to the Bronko Nagurski Award and Rotary Lombardi Award watch lists and has been named to the all-conference team three times. Awasom has missed only two games in his entire career, starting in 37.
