North Texas Basketball Opens Sun Belt Play Tonight

DENTON (1/7/05) - The North Texas men's and women's basketball teams begin conference play on Saturday night against New Mexico State. The women host the Aggies at 7 pm in the Super Pit, while the men travel to Las Cruces for an 8:05 pm tipoff. Every regular-season men's North Texas game can be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The Mean Green women (5-7) enter the game on a three-game losing streak for the first time this season and look to break that against the Aggies. North Texas opens up a three-game homestand against the Aggies and will play five of the first seven games in conference play at home.
The North Texas men (7-4) has won four of its last five games, holds its best record through 11 games since the 1994-95 season and is in first place in the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference entering league play. North Texas will play its third consecutive road game in a string of five away from the Super Pit when it faces New Mexico State at the Pan American Center.
