Jane Schulte is originally from Krum, Texas and played on the women's basketball team from 1970-72. During that two year period the coach had no remaining scholarships so many of the players were made up of students from the classes the coach taught. Jane was 5'6" and played center for many of the games she played in while often the opposing teams' center was nearly 6'0".
Jane graduated in 1973 and moved to Houston for the next nine years and has now been in Midland for the last twenty-three. She is currently an auditor in the oil and gas industry. Jane has a son named Cody, who also graduated from North Texas and is now an auditor with KPMG in Dallas. She also has a daughter named Casey who will graduate from North Texas in December with her MSA in Accounting.
After college Jane was still active in sports as she played city league softball and basketball in Houston. She also gave football a try playing for the Houston Herricanes in the late-70's before beginning her family. Jane said, "I still enjoy going to all types of sporting events including football, basketball, hockey, and football. I enjoy living in West Texas where high school football reigns but there is also ample opportunity to watch junior college basketball and minor league hockey & football."
