Mean Green Rally From 16 Down To Beat Louisiana-Monroe

MONROE, La. (11/30/05) Redshirt freshman Amber Jackson fueled a furious second half rally as the North Texas women’s basketball team rallied from a 16-point deficit to defeat Louisiana-Monroe 68-62 from Fant-Ewing Coliseum. Down 43-27 with 14:58 to play, the Mean Green (4-1) used a 13-0 run to climb back in the game.
Jackson, who ended the game with a team-high 15 points, scored 11 of her 15 points in the second half.

North Texas took their first lead of the game since the first half at 61-60 with 57 seconds left when
Louisiana-Monroe missed a 3-point shot on their next possession and two free throws by Mian Williams made it a 63-60
Aishie Banks scored with 5.6 left to cut the Mean Green lead to 64-62, but
“This is really a great comeback for us especially on the road. This is going to give us a lot of momentum heading into Saturday” Slinker said.
The win gives the Mean Green its best start at 4-1 since the 2000-01 season.
