Golden Paces North Texas At The SBC Championship

“It was tough out there. The conditions and the course are both very difficult and we had a tough time,” said
Junior Jaclyn Golden paced the Mean Green with an 81 and is tied for 21st place after two rounds with a score of 160. Andra Lancaster is one shot behind Golden after a second round of 82.
The three freshmen competing in their first Sun Belt Conference Championship for
Lauren Cheves shot a second round 84 and is at 165. Halli Richards rebounded from a tough first round with a second round of 81 and is at 166 while freshman Paige Padgett sits at 168 after the first two rounds of play.
On the men's side junior Jason Lindgren shot a 1-over par 73 to lead the North Texas men’s golf team in blustery conditions Lindgren’s round vaulted him into the top 20 individually as he now sits tied for 19th place with a two round score of 151.
Facing the most difficult conditions of the week,
“We played a little bit better out there but we still left some shots out on the course,” said
Freshman Anthony Broussard battled throughout the day and made two birdies in the final five holes to finish with a score of 2-over par 74 in the second round. Broussard remains in contention individually for the title as he is tied for 11th place with a two-round score of 147, just four shots behind the leader Patrick Sullivan of Arkansas-Little Rock.
Junior Andreas Kali and freshman Raul Lemus had second round scores of 78. Kali is tied for 36th place after two days at 155 and Lemus is two shots behind with a two round score of 157. Senior Reid McPherson battled his way back onto the course after missing the first round due to illness and fired a round of 80.
