Mean Green Falls Short Against FIU, 68-65

The final score marked the closest the Mean Green came to the FIU lead after making a run to enter half behind, 33-30. FIU led by as many as 14 points in the game, but the Mean Green cut the lead to single digits multiple times. The Golden Panthers always had an answer for the
FIU held a 10-point lead, 62-52, with 3:22 left in the game. The Mean Green responded with a final 13-6 run. Senior Erika Bobo cut the lead to five points, 62-57, with a driving layup only to have FIU respond with two free throws.
Freshman Sanetra Jackson hit a three-pointer to bring
Bobo finished the game with a team-high 18 points. Sanetra Jackson had a career night with 11 points. She hit back-to-back jumpers in the first half to help the Mean Green enter intermission behind by just three points. Mian Williams joined Bobo and Jackson in double figures with 10 points.

The Golden Panthers refused to give up the lead, hitting two baskets to go back ahead by double digits, 31-21. The Mean Green scored nine of the final 11 points of the half to cut the lead to three at the half.
Florida International shot 43.3 percent from the field, compared to NT’s 23-of-56 shooting (41.1 percent). The Golden Panthers also held the edge in rebounds, 44 to 35.
