10/13/2006 12:00:00 AM | Women's Volleyball
The Mean Green (13-10, 4-3) posted their eighth consecutive win over the Ragin’ Cajuns (6-13, 3-5) who have not beaten a Cassie Headrick coached team since 2001.
Tara Hooser led the Mean Green in kills for the eleventh time this season finishing with 15 for the match. Ashley Bass put up her second consecutive double-double with a season-high 47 assists and 14 digs.
Jamie Sinegal and Elizabeth Inman combined for 31 kills for the Ragin’ Cajuns who dropped their second match in a row.
The Mean Green looked to give back some of the momentum they built after taking a 2-0 lead through the first two games when they dropped the third game 30-26; however, Brooke Engel served out three aces in a seven-point stretch that gave the Mean Green enough cushion to finish out the match in four games.
Engel finished with three aces, all in the final game, that gives her 70 for the season. She is only six aces away from tying Carol Lancki for the single-season aces mark at
Match time is set for 7 p.m. from the North Texas Volleyball Complex.
