Bobo Captures MVP Award At Annual Basketball Banquet

DENTON (4/27/06) - The 2006 North Texas Women's Basketball Banquet was held Thursday at the Athletic Center, featuring master of ceremonies Hank Dickenson. Video highlights from the 2005-06 season were shown and Head Coach Tina Slinker spoke as well.

North Texas celebrated the 2005-06 season that featured its second Sun Belt Conference West Division Championship in five seasons. The Mean Green had 19 victories, the fourth most in school history, and set numerous school records during the season.

Coach Slinker presented the following awards to members of the Mean Green women's basketball team:

MVP- Erika Bobo
Offensive Player Award- Erika Bobo
Defensive Player Award- Mian Williams
Rebounding Award- Talicia Sanders
Most Improved- Amber Jackson
Mean Green Pride Award ( Community Service)- Kennethia Wilson
Best Attitude Award- Kennethia Wilson
