Headrick Claims All-Time Volleyball Coaching Record

DENTON (9/1/06) With wins over Southern Mississippi and Sam Houston State, North Texas Head volleyball coach Cassie Headrick has taken over the No. 1 spot in wins in Mean Green history.
The Mean Green (3-3) knocked off the Southern Mississippi Golden Ealgles (2-2) in straight sets 3-0 and then overtook the Lady Bearkats of Sam Houston State (1-1) 3-1 to give Coach Headrick her 83rd win in her tenure at North Texas, passing Vickie Guy and the overall lead in wins in North Texas history.
“It was a fun day of volleyball today,” Headrick said. “ I think we are really making strides as a team. Our offense is really coming alive.”
With the wins, the Mean Green now has a three-game winning streak going into their game tomorrow morning versus Radford.
Jessica Hulsebosch also had a record-setting day, breaking her own single-game record for digs not once, but twice on Friday. Hulsebosch had 34 digs versus Southern Mississippi, breaking the record of 33, and then shattered that with 38 in her four-game match against

Brittney Gregory and Katy Prokof each had a dozen kills against the Golden Eagles while freshman Heather Maddox debuted with 41 assists.
