2006-07 Men's Basketball Schedule
DENTON (9/15/06) North Texas men’s basketball coach Johnny Jones is pleased to announce the 2006-07 Mean Green basketball schedule, which is loaded with postseason participants and a host of regional rivalries.
“We are very excited about the upcoming year,” Jones said. “Once again, our schedule is very demanding, but our players and staff look forward to embracing it, and it will be exciting and entertaining for our fans.”
The Mean Green are set to face four teams that played in postseason tournaments, as well as eight that racked up at least 16 wins and six that finished in the RPI top 150.
On the non-conference schedule, the Mean Green heads to NIT participants Charlotte, now with the Atlantic-10 Conference, and emerging Big XII power
“Our tough non-conference schedule will prepare us for a very challenging Sun Belt Conference schedule,” Jones said.
This year’s Sun Belt slate is tougher than ever, as four conference opponents ended the season ranked in the RPI top 150. Three of those four teams will visit the Super Pit in 2006-07.

The Mean Green expands to 18 Sun Belt games with the addition of Florida Atlantic and Louisiana-Monroe to the conference slate. On top of the Western Kentucky tilt, the Mean Green hosts perennial Sun Belt powers Louisiana-Lafayette and Middle Tennessee, as well as Denver, New Orleans, Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, FAU and
