Volleyball's Mean Green Classic To Begin Friday

The Mean Green is led by junior libero Jessica Hulsebosch who is currently third in the nation in digs averaging 7.41 per game. Seniors Brittney Gregory and Tara Hooser have been deadly as of late, with Hooser having 37 kills in her last two matches and Gregory leading the team in total kills.
They are led by Joanna Schmitt, who has already put up four double-doubles in 2006. She is averaging 4.74 kills per game. Also, Rachel Jackson ranks fourth in the nation in assists with a 14.3 per game average.
The Mean Green will also see the Sam Houston Bearkats for the second consecutive week.
The Bearkats are ranked in the top-20 in the country in aces, and libero Melissa Sims is tied for fourth in the country in digs coming into this weekend.
The 0-4 Tigers are led by Preseason All-SWAC honoree, Dequnda Smith who is off to a slow start only averaging 1.67 kills per game in her first four matches.
