NEW ORLEANS (10/12/07) The North Texas volleyball team saw its two-match win streak come to an end at New Orleans, falling in four games, 26-30, 30-24, 23-30, 30-24.

Brooke Engel erupted for the Mean Green (7-14, 3-4), but it wasn’t at the serving line. The senior went ace-less against the Privateers (11-10, 5-3), but led three Mean Green players in double figures with 14 kills.

After falling in the first game, North Texas opened up an 8-2 lead in game two on the defense of Jessica Hulsebosch and never looked back. The senior had 21 digs on the night and was the catalyst for the 30-24 win.

Katy Prokof registered her fourth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 14 digs, and Heather Maddox directed the NT offense with 44 assists.

North Texas continues its Louisiana swing tomorrow night at Louisiana-Lafayette and on Sunday at Louisiana at Monroe.
