Volleyball Team Effort Tops Arkansas State In Jonesboro

Rachel Raley and Brooke Engel led the way with 15 kills apiece to lead the
“We had a great team effort tonight, and played a complete match as a team,” said head coach Cassie Headrick. “We served the ball really well and kept them out of the center of the court. I was really excited with our play tonight.”
Engel managed to push her way back into the national service ace race with four aces against the Indians (9-16, -8). The senior is averaging .84 aces per game this year, good enough for third best in the country.
The win was a significant one for the Mean Green, which was tied with the Indians in a logjam in the middle of the Sun Belt Conference standings. North Texas now holds a 2-0 advantage over ASU this season after taking the Indians in five games at the
Prokof continues to be a bright spot for the Mean Green, notching the 37th double-double of her career. On top of her 13 kills, the senior managed a season-high 18 digs.
Jessica Hulsebosch added 24 digs on the night, and captain Heather Maddox orchestrated the Mean Green offense with 54 assists against the Indians.
