Mean Green Basketball Team Lends A Helping Hand

DENTON, Texas (10/6/07) The North Texas basketball team took some time out for charity on Saturday to help build a home with Habitat For Humanity.
Members of the Sun Belt Championship squad hung siding and insulations, and helped with carpentry work at the 75th house built by Habitat for Humanity in Denton County. The Diaz family is expected to move into their new house at
“I think that this is a great way for our guys to give back to the community,” said North Texas head coach Johnny Jones. "We are very fortunate with everything we have, and I think it's important that we lend a helping hand."
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that has been combating homelessness since 1976, inviting people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
The Mean Green basketball team will hoist the 2007 Sun Belt title and NCAA Tournament banners at the season opener on Nov. 10 at the Super Pit against
