Mean Green Look To Tame Dustdevils At Super Pit Today

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Mean Green and the Dustdevils, who are a provisional member of the Division II Heartland Conference. But make no mistake, the Dustdevils are a dangerous squad featuring one of the country’s most potent scorers in Chris Swan.

What To Watch For
With a win over Texas A&M-International, the Mean Green would move to 9-2 in non-conference play, matching last year’s school record non-con win percentage (81.8 percent). It would also tie the most non-con victories since the 1953-54 squad won 11.
North Texas guard Ben Bell is turning into the Mean Green iron man. The senior has started every game of the last two seasons - a total of 45 consecutive starts.
NT ranked 11th in the Sun Belt with a 65.7 free throw percentage in 2006-07, but has hit at 73.4 percent clip in 2007-08 - good for the third best mark in school history.
North Texas is 6-0 at home for the first time since 1977-78, when Bill Blakeley’s squad went 14-0 at the Super Pit. The Mean Green was also perfect at home in 1974, marking the only undefeated seasons in the Super Pit in school history.
