The Pioneers proved a hot-shooting squad on Thursday.
Alisha Godette proved a thorn in the Mean Green’s side as she led three Pioneers in double figures. The junior had a game-high 20 points on 8-12 shooting.
The Mean Green trimmed he lead to six points with just over six minutes remaining in the game, but Godette answered with a 3-pointer to extend the Pioneer lead back to nine, a lead they took to the final.
The Mean Green trailed 40-27 at the half due in large part to turnovers. NT turned the ball over 12 times which led to 16 Pioneer points in the opening frame alone.
The Mean Green returns home to The Super Pit on Saturday to take on UALR. Tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and can be heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.
