Hulsebosch's Defense Leads Volleyball To Rout Of NJIT

The Mean Green (4-9) opened up a 14-5 lead on the Highlanders in the opening game on the strength its defense. Jessica Hulsebosch racked up 14 digs and the Mean Green posted 14 assisted blocks as a team in the first game alone.
Hulsebosch had her third straight 20-dig effort by the second game en route to a 26 dig day. The senior is already the program’s all-time career digs leader.
Catherine Coffey has emerged as an offensive threat in 2007, adding to her stellar defensive reputation. The junior, who tallied 11 kills this afternoon, has reached double-digits in each of her last four matches, moving into the team lead with 104 on the year. Coffey landed 62.5 percent of her attacks against NJIT.
While Coffey is making a name for herself on the offensive front, Erica Wendell is quickly becoming NT’s hidden gem on defense. The senior tied a career-high with eight blocks, the second time she has racked up eight blocks this season.
Both Coffey and Wendell were named to the Tulsa Invitational All-Tournament team.
