DENTON, Texas (1/12/08) Head out to the Super Pit tonight as the Ragin’ Cajuns invade Denton for a basketball double-header beginning at 5 p.m.

Amber Jackson and Jo Hall combined for 31 points, but couldn’t hold off Arkansas State on Wednesday night. Tonight, the combo will look to get back on track against Louisiana-Lafayette.

For a third straight outing, the Mean Green men will be facing a team it eliminated from the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Mean Green ousted Louisiana-Lafayette in the tournament’s opening round, 93-78, at the Super Pit.

The Mean Green swept all three season meetings with the Ragin’ Cajuns in 2006-07. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. CST, and can be heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.

What To Watch For

Collin Dennis racked up a career-high 30 points against Arkansas State, making him the first North Texas player to reach the 30-point plateau in five years. The last person to reach that mark was Chris Davis in a 30 point outing versus Western Kentucky on Feb. 8, 2003.

Quincy Williams tied a career high with four blocks against Arkansas State, moving the senior into a tie for second place in school history with 81 career blocks.

With the victory at Arkansas State, seventh-year head coach Johnny Jones recorded his 97th win at North Texas. Boasting an overall record of 112-109, Jones is just three wins shy of becoming only the third coach in North Texas history to tally 100 wins.

For the 10th game this season, and the fourth game in a row, North Texas had at least one player reach double figures by halftime when Collin Dennis notched 14 at the break.
