What To Watch For
For the first time since joining the league in 2000,
Josh White and Collin Dennis were the toast of the Sun Belt following a standout 2007-08 season. White was named the league’s Freshman of the Year and Dennis the Newcomer of the Year, and both earned second-team all-SBC honors. Head­ing into this season, White earned first team and Dennis earned second-team honors in the annual preseason squads.
The Mean Green opens the 2008-09 regular season on Nov. 14 with a throw-back game at the historic Ken Bahnsen Gym, formerly known as the Snake Pit. The facility was the home of NT basketball from 1950-73, and was the site of numerous milestones and remarkable moments.

The Dustdevils are coming off a 76-73 exhibition loss to the Nuevo Laredo Venados, a Mexican professional squad. The Dustdevils were picked to finish sixth in the Heart­land Conference preseason poll, while guard Chris swan was named to the preseason all-conference team.
