Mean Green Volleyball Tops 20-Win Red Wolves

Just like the win over perennial power Western Kentucky last month, the Mean Green (5-21, 3-10 Sun Belt West) came out as the aggressor against the Red Wolves (20-9, 9-6 Sun Belt West) and took care of its possessions.
The Mean Green had fallen in 10 of its last 11 matches, including its last four, and had yet to win a true road match this season. That all came to an end with a .271 attack percentage and just 16 total attack errors.
Amy Huddleston was impressive on both sides of the ball, posting 12 kills and a career high eight blocks. The sophomore had just one attack error and landed .579 percent of her shots, her fourth match of .500 hitting or better.
Showing the squad’s versatility, five different Mean Green players attempted 17 or more attacks. Roxana Casvean was once again the focus with 14 kills on .270 hitting.
NT opened the match with a 6-2 run and never looked back. NT slammed home 14 kills on .323 hitting in the opening frame, only committing four attack errors.
Sarah Willey, the Mean Green libero, picked on her counterparts on the Red Wolves back line in the second set. NT went on a 7-0 run on the freshman’s serve, including four service aces.
