HEAD COACH JOHNNY JONES QUOTES
“We knew coming in that this was going to be a tough game. Jackson State is a very good basketball team. They have done a tremendous job in their previous games against great competition. This was good for us to see where we are as a basketball team. JSU forced us to play a different way. They forced us to make plays. We found some gaps and were able to get to the basket and create free throw opportunities for ourselves. I am excited about seeing our guys making plays.”
On the start of the season
“I am excited about our start this year. This is one of the tougher starts to a season that we have had here facing Oklahoma State, Sam Houston State and Indiana State on the road and then taking on Jackson State here.”
“Collin is a big play guy and he made big plays for us tonight. He is a great free throw shooter and a clutch performer. He did a great job both offensively and he defended well down the stretch.”
On the balanced scoring
“I am pleased with our offensive output. We don’t look to one guy to carry the load. We like to see the basketball distributed and guys making plays.”
“George was again very strong for us on the glass. He is a double digit rebounder and again grabbed double figure rebounds for us.”
