Win Inches Volleyball Team Closer To Sun Belt Tourney

Needing to win three of its final five matches to make the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, the Mean Green (6-21, 4-10 Sun Belt West) responded with a strong outing against the Warhawks (1-27, 0-14 Sun Belt West).
NT now heads to southern
Salah Schoenecke and Roxana Casvean provided the firepower for the Mean Green with a combined 25 kills on 66 attempts. Casvean secured her fourth double-double of the year with 11 digs as well.
The Mean Green fell in the first set 25-21, but rebounded well out of the break. NT posted 15 kills on .281 hitting in the second, and got even better in the third.
A Brittani Youman block blasted NT out to a quick 4-1 lead in the fourth set, and an 8-1 run late in the frame sealed the victory. Youman sent back a season-high five blocks against the Warhawks.
Sarah Willey was superb on the defensive end of the floor with 15 digs, and Marelle Lepmets efficiently led the Mean Green offense with 41 assists.
