Privateer Offense Out-Duals Mean Green Volleyball

NEW ORLEANS (11/08/08) The Mean Green volleyball team hit over .200 for the third time in the last four matches, but it wasn’t enough in a 3-0 loss to a red-hot New Orleans squad (29-27, 25-22, 25-15).
Led by Amy Huddleston, North Texas (6-22, 4-11 Sun Belt West) hit .239 on the day, but was stymied by a Privateer (17-9, 10-5 Sun Belt West) team that managed to slam home a .350 attack percentage. The sophomore paced the Mean Green with eight kills on .429 hitting, which vaults her season average to .266, just outside the top 10 in school history.
With three regular season matches to play,
Down by seven points early in the first set, the Mean Green went on an 11-2 run to tie the match a 15 apiece. A slugfest ensued and the teams found themselves lock at 27, before an NT attack error and a Dobrilla Kovacevic kill gave the first set to UNO.
The second verse was much the same, as UNO took an early 6-0 lead it would never relinquish.
