Seniors Honored At North Texas Basketball Banquet

DENTON, Texas (4/09/08) Nearly three hundred supporters and fans showed up to toast the Mean Green at the annual North Texas Basketball Banquet at the Gateway Center on Wednesday night.
The men’s basketball team celebrated its second straight 20-win season, while the women honored a trio of acclaimed athletes.
Erica Howard was named the women’s offensive MVP, while Talicia Sanders took home top defensive honors. Amber Jackson earned the Most Valuable Player award, as well as the Mean Green Pride Award for community service.
On the men’s side, freshman sensation Josh White was named the offensive player of the year, and Collin Dennis was named the defensive MVP. The pair was each named to the Sun Belt Second-Team All-Conference in 2007-08.
North Texas’ trio of seniors split the Most Valuable Player award. Keith Wooden, Ben Bell and Quincy Williams each took home MVP honors after setting the school record for home victories in 2007-08.
