Idaho State Wins See-Saw Battle Over Mean Green Volleyball

OREM, Utah (9/13/08) The North Texas volleyball team dropped a four-set slugfest to Idaho State (26-24, 25-23, 17-25, 25-23) at the Utah Valley Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
North Texas (1-7) kicked its offense into high gear, out-hitting
A back-and-forth battle, the match featured 11 lead changes and 27 ties, including seven lead changes in the fourth set alone.
Roxana Casvean piled up a career and tournament high 20-kills to lead three Mean Green players in double-digits. The outing was Casvean’s first career double-double, and was the first 20-kill outing by a Mean Green player since Katy Prokof last year. Brittani Youman piled on 14 kills and Amy Huddleston added 11.
The Mean Green was once again solid defensively, holding ISU to a .195 attack percentage. Five players recorded double-digit digs, led by libero Sarah Willey’s career-best 15. Breanne Owens and Casvean each had 14 digs, setter Kayla Saey tallied 11 and Lacy Reasons added 10.
