Huddleston Powers Matinee Win At Southern Miss Invite

Amy Huddleston picked a perfect time to hit a hot streak, posting 16 kills to end the North Texas volleyball team’s losing streak with a sweep over
The sophomore has been electric in leading the Mean Green (2-9) lately. Huddleston posted a .414 attack percentage on 29 attempts versus the Cowgirls (3-5) in the Southern Miss Invitational opener, and has landed 45 kills on .282 hitting in the last four outings.
As a team,
Marelle Lepmets quarterbacked the Mean Green attack with 36 assists, including 11 kills to Roxana Casvean and seven to Salah Schoenecke.
Tournament host Southern
Kati Dillard and the Mean Green front line formed a potent wall against the Golden Eagles. Dillard posted a season-best six blocks as North Texas sent back eight total blocks.
Willey got under 15 attacks for her sixth match with double-digit digs outing of the last seven outings. Kayla Saey came off the bench to lead the Mean Green offense with 14 assists.
