Swimming And Diving Falls To Denver And Utah

DENVER, Colo., (10/24/09) - North Texas Swimming and Diving fell to both Utah and Denver in its double dual Saturday afternoon at the El Pomar Natatorium on the campus of the University of Denver.
The Mean Green (2-2) lost to the Utes from Utah (1-1) 174-126 while also falling to Denver 182.5-116.5. The Pioneers defeated the Utes 162-134.
Denver, the team that finished in front of the Mean Green at the Sun Belt Conference Championships last season, improved to 2-0 on the season.

Rosa Gentile had a big day for North Texas, winning the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.94 and taking second in the 100 butterfly. She was also a member of the 400 meter freestyle relay which finished second.
After taking first the last two weeks, Delia Covo set a career high on the three meter board with a score of 245.65. Her career best was enough to capture third, behind two Utah divers.
Catia Weickgenant also captured a first place finish, as she came in with a time of 1:54.95 in the 200 meter freestyle.
The Mean Green will be back in action Friday, November 6th in Dallas, Texas as they travel to take on the SMU Mustangs. That meet will begin at 6 p.m.
