While the two teams have only met twice before, the games have come down to the last minute. The Mean Green has won both meetings. The first matchup in 2007 was a one-point North Texas win, 27-26 that saw the Mean Green rally from a 13-point halftime deficit. Last season linebacker Tobe Nwigwe intercepted a pass on the final play of the game and returned it 97 yards for a touchdown to seal a 51-40 North Texas victory.
