DENTON, Texas (3/4/09) - North Texas earned the No. 4 seed in the Sun Belt Tournament, its highest ever, after becoming just the second SBC squad to win in Denver this year. The Mean Green has rolled in its last two Sun Belt Tournament First-Round games, and welcomes No. 13 Florida Atlantic to the Super Pit. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CST) and can be heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.
What To Watch For
Arguably the hottest player in the country right now, Adam McCoy, was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week after scorching his way to a 27.5 ppg average in his last two outings. The Dallas native was unstoppable beyond the arc, nailing 10-of-17 (58.8 percent) from deep. He also posted a perfect 9-of-9 performance from the free throw line.
Eric Tramiel was honored for his stellar season with an All-Sun Belt Conference Third-Team selection. The junior leads NT with a 12.2 points per game average.
Josh White hasn’t missed a free throw since Jan. 10, and now leads the nation with a free throw mark of 92.0 percent. If White can keep this up for the remainder of the year, he would be just the second NT player to lead the NCAA in a major statistical category.
