Sun Belt Preseason Awards Announced

NEW ORLEANS, La. (7/20/09) – The Sun Belt Conference released the 2009 football preseason All-Sun Belt team and poll on Monday morning.
Troy was picked to repeat as Sun Belt Champion again this year by the leagues nine coaches and selected media members with 72 points and five first place votes. The Mean Green were picked to finish eighth this year ahead of Sun Belt newcomer Western Kentucky and behind ULM.
North Texas did not land a single player on the All-Sun Belt preseason team for the first time since the Sun Belt became a division on conference.
North Texas will kick-off the 2009 campaign at Ball State on September 3 at 6:30 pm.
