Notes From Scrimmage #1

The Mean Green took to Fouts Field this morning for their first scrimmage of the fall. Scrimmaging for about two hours, each squad saw four possessions. The team gets Sunday off before taking to the field again Monday with another two-a-day.

Attire: Keeping with the game like atmosphere, the team came out in full pads.

Darius Carey had a monster day. He did not drop a ball thrown to him, shook tacklers, and scored when the opportunity presented itself.

Play of the day: Carey took a bubble screen pass from quarterback Riley Dodge, shook three tacklers and broke into the end zone.

Lance Dunbar was the best back of the day, taking several carries over the 20 yard hump and into open field.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Riley Dodge looked like he was in mid-season form, completing all but one pass, and scampering away from numerous rushers to make big plays.
- Players that did not participate in today's scrimmage include Cam Montgomery, Michael Outlaw, Jamaal Jackson, Kelvin Jackson, Antoine Bush, Breece Johnson and Bennie Jones.
