Notes From Fall Practices #10 & 11
After having Sunday off, North Texas Football completed two practices on Monday at the North Texas Athletics Center. The team got a little time off over the weekend and it appears the defense took full advantage of their meetings and relaxation.
Attire: The team came out in full pads for their first practice. Practice 10 went around 2 hours and 15 minutes. Shells were brought out for the afternoon practice which lasted around 2 hours as well.
- After a lackluster performance in the Mean Green's first scrimmage on Saturday, the defense came out firing on all cylinders Monday morning. They were playing blanket coverage and not allowing the offense to do much.
- Hit of the Day: Sophomore defensive back Darien Williams popped running back James Hamilton coming up the middle knocking him back a good three yards.
- Run of the Day: After being hit hard and knocked back three yards by Darien Williams, sophomore running back James Hamilton was able to stay on his feet, spin towards the sideline and cut up the field for what would have been a 60-yard touchdown.
- For the first time all camp, the defense consistently covered the receivers well, and received numerous "coverage" sacks. This happened around 4 times in each practice and really shows how confident
