Notes From Fall Practices #13 and 14
For the third time this fall, North Texas Football engaged in two-a-days. Both practices lasted a little over two hours and for the third straight day the defense stood strong against an offense that thoroughly dominated the team's first scrimmage on Saturday.
- Attire: As Full pads have become accustomed to the Mean Green's first practices of the day, that trend continued on Wednesday. Shells were brought out during the afternoon session.
- Squad of Practice 1: The front seven of the defensive front showed their power during the first practice. During a drill that featured the offense starting at their own three yard line, the defensive front seven starters came up with safeties four times.
- Squad of Practice 2: The cornerbacks were all over the field during the second session, intercepting the quarterback four times, three of which would have gone the distance to the end zone.
- Freshman wide out Darius Carey continues to impress everyone, as he catches anything and everything thrown to him. Carey has also made appearances as a kick and punt returner.
