North Texas Game Notes vs. Ball State

- North Texas defense had a three-and-out in the first series of the game.
- Michael Outlaw caught a 19-yard pass on the first offensive play of the game for North Texas. It was his first career catch for North Texas.
- Jeremi Mathis received his first career rush for the Mean Green when he went for six yards on the second play of the game.
- Lance Dunbar rushed for the first Mean Green touchdown of the year and his second of his career.
- North Texas scored a touchdown on its first offensive possession of the game. Last year North Texas scored a touchdown on the first possession of the game only twice.
- The North Texas defense forced punts on the first two Ball State possessions. In all of last year North Texas only forced three opponents to punt on the first possession of the game and didn't force any of those three opponents to punt on the first two possessions.
- North Texas led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Mean Green didn't shut out any opponent in the first quarter last season and the only time North Texas led after the first quarter last year was against Western Kentucky - the only game it won.

- Running back Cam Montgomery rushed for over 100 yards in the first three quarters. Montgomery went over 100 yards three times last season with a career-high 130 yards in the win over Western Kentucky.

- North Texas won its season-opener for just the second time in the last 13 years with the only other time being at Middle Tennessee in 2005.
