Basketball Teams Volunteer At Midnight Hoops

DENTON, Texas - The North Texas men's and women's basketball teams took time to volunteer at the Denton Police Officers Association's Midnight Hoops, a 12-hour 5-on-5 basketball tournament last weekend at Ryan High School.
The tournament pitted high school and college students, as well as coaches, teachers, police officers and firefighters in a friendly game of hoops. NT players and coaches lent their expertise in coaching, officiating and motivating.
The players did everything from painting fingernails, to showing off a few moves, and even signed autographs for everyone in attendance.
The North Texas women return to the court for their season opener against Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. The Mean Green men, the defending Sun Belt champions, face Henderson State at 5 p.m. on Nov. 12.
