Homecoming Bonfire Taking Shape

DENTON, Texas (10/11/10) – The North Texas Homecoming Week starts today and activities run throughout the week. Homecoming concludes on Saturday with the parade and the Mean Green football game against FIU.
One of the first events of the week is the picnic and pep rally, which is set to run from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the Library Mall on Tuesday.
On Friday, the annual lighting of the Bonfire and Yell Like Hell will get started at 7:30 p.m. Due to the new football stadium construction, the site of the Bonfire has been moved to Eagle Point, near Victory Hall. In 2011, the Bonfire will move back to a permanent structure near the new football stadium.
The Homecoming Parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, traveling around the Denton town square and up Oak Street. The Mean Green football game against FIU will kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
