North Texas (8-21, 5-13 Sun Belt) trailed 52-46 with four minutes remaining when Ravven Brown drove to the left block and hit a tough layup while drawing a foul. Her free throw made it a 3-point ball game, and Jasmine Godbolt tied the game just a minute later on a 3-point play of her own.
Unfortunately for NT, that's where ULM's (10-18, 4-14 Sun Belt) Elizabeth Torres took over. The Keller, Texas native hit a three-point play and three free throws in the closing seconds to put the game on ice.
Denetra Kellum led the way for North Texas with 17 points on 8-of-16 shooting and eight rebounds. Jasmine Godbolt wasn't far behind with 13 points.
Torres proved unstoppable for NT most of the night with a game-high 18 points for ULM.
As the No. 10 seed, North Texas will play Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against either FIU or South Alabama in the first round of the SBC Tourney.
North Texas jumped out to a 10-4 lead thanks to Caitlin Hawkins' deep 3-pointer with just over 16 minutes left on the first-half clock, and Jasmine Godbolt pushed the lead to 14-6 with a turn-around jumper off the glass just three minutes later.
The Warhawks would make things interesting before long, tying the game at 21 apiece before taking the lead on a Shannon Davis turn-around layup with two minutes remaining in the half.
Despite shooting just 33.3 percent (13-of-39), ULM went into the break with a 30-25 lead over the Mean Green.
