Eric Tramiel's dream of playing in the NBA got a big boost as he received a mini-camp invite from the Dallas Mavericks and he is one of 16 guys hoping to be a member of the Mavs Summer League team out in Vegas starting July 9.
If he makes it, Tramiel will get a chance to play with the Mavs new first-round pick Dominique Jones and the very talented Robby B (just a guy who scored 25 points in the playoffs....in one quarter) in hopes of impressing a few coaches and scouts in the NBA.
Now that he's 100 percent healthy, the best case scenario for Tramiel is to play well against the competition this summer and find his way onto an NBA D-League team in the upcoming season.
He's one of two power forwards on the summer league roster, the other being a guy named Zvonko who I guess played at TCU last year, but it could mean some good minutes for Tramiel.
If you are a diehard NBA junkie who actually likes watching summer league hoops, you can follow all of the games here....for a small fee to the David Stern retirement fund.
And who knows, maybe the Mavs will like this Eric better than their current version.....I know I do.
