The two-time All-Sun Belt player ranks third in North Texas history with a career shooting mark of 57 percent, and his prime time performances in the SBC Tournament led the Mean Green back to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four seasons.
"We are extremely excited for Eric," said North Texas head coach Johnny Jones. "Because of his hard work and dedication to the game, it will allow him to compete at the highest level. This is obviously a dream come true for Eric, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving person."
Joining Tramiel on the roster is the Mavericks' first round draft pick Dominique Jones, as well as speedy guard Rodrigue Beaubois. NBA veteran J.R. Giddens and 2008 draft pick Shan Foster are also making the trip to Las Vegas.
The Mavericks will host a three-day camp in Dallas next week before leaving for Las Vegas on Thursday. The NBA Summer League season tips off on July 9 with the Mavericks taking on Denver at the Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV. The Mavs will play five total games and each will be broadcast on NBATV.
The NBA Summer League includes 22 NBA teams and a team of NBA D-League Select players. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling 702-739-FANS.
