Game Notes
DENTON, Texas - North Texas owns the nation's 10th longest home win streak at 16 games, but the last team to wonder into the Super Pit and win was Arkansas State in Jan. of 2010. The Mean Green want to make sure those results are repeated on Saturday night at the Super Pit.
Tip off from the Super Pit is slated for 7 p.m. and can be seen in the DFW area on TXA21 (George Dunham and Hank Dickenson) and on the Mean Green Radio Network (Steven Bartolotta).
Tristan Thompson poured in a career-high 30-points at ULM, which is the third-most points in a Sun Belt game this year. In the Johnny Jones era, the senior's performance ties for the sixth best. All-time, it was the 97th 30-point game in NT history. Thompson ranks 9th in school history with 1,379 career points.
Apparently, Kedrick Hogans loves to start. The junior has started 11 games this year, and is averaging 11.2 points on 67.1 percent shooting in those outings. In the eight games he's come off the bench, Hogans is averaging 6.0 points on 47.4 percent shooting.
Arkansas State holds a slim 18-15 margin in the all-time series with North Texas after taking both meetings in 2009-10. Before last season, the Mean Green had won the previous six games with ASU dating back to the 2007 Sun Belt Championship game. ASU is 8-7 against NT at the Super Pit.
On the hardwood, ASU's Martavius Adams has developed into a formidable post presence. The 6-8 Oklahoma State transfer is leading the Red Wolves with 12.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, and is shooting 51.0 percent from the floor.
ASU is coming off a 74-36 loss at Denver. The Pioneers went 13-of-19 (68.4 percent) from 3-point, and held the Red Wolves to 33.3 percent shooting and just 11 field goals. DU also turned 20 ASU turnovers into 31 points. Arkansas State is 1-7 on the road overall, and 0-3 in SBC road play.
