TEAM
- North Texas is on a 66-13 at home under Johnny Jones since the 2006-07 season.
- First time meeting between North Texas and St. Gregory’s.
- This is the 11th straight season opener victory since the 2000-01 season.
- This is the first meeting against the Sooner Athletic Conference since December 13, 1983, when the Mean Green defeated Oklahoma City 66-61.
- North Texas, the tallest team in the Sun Belt Conference with an average height of 6’5½”, bulldozed their way into the paint and outscored St. Gregory’s 40-18 inside the lane.
- The Mean Green outrebounded St. Gregory’s 52-36. The last time North Texas grabbed 50 or more rebounds was against Cameron on November 13, 2009 with 50.
- The defense stole the ball from the Cavaliers’ offense 12 times and forced 20 turnovers. The last time the North Texas had 10 or more steals was against Jackson State on December 12, 2010 with 10 steals.
- The Mean Green led at halftime 35-17 while holding the Cavaliers to 26% shooting from the field and scored 16 points off turnovers.
- North Texas ended the first half on a 20-7 run

Chris Jones
- Finished the game with four points, four steals, eight assists, and a game-high 12 rebounds, setting a new North Texas’ high in rebounds for gaurds since Shannon Shorter’s 10 against Southwest on December 2, 2009.
Jordan Williams
- Had a game-high 16 points, shooting 50% from the field with five rebounds
Kedrick Hogans
- Tallied 11 points on five of eight shooting and five rebounds
Jacob Holmen
- Powered his way to eight points and eight rebounds on 27 minutes of play.
