DENTON, Texas - Coming off its first road win against Troy, the North Texas football team returns home for their final two homes games of the year starting with Western Kentucky on Saturday night at Apogee Stadium.
The game is set for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast by the Sun Belt Network and can also be found on ESPN3.com.
The first 3,000 students at the game will also receive a free pair of sunglasses. The game features the top two running backs in the Sun Belt Conference. Lance Dunbar for North Texas has rushed for 3,909 yards in his career, third among active rushers while Bobby Rainey for WKU is second with 4,101 career rushing yards.
Chris Bynes hauled in seven catches for a career-high 134 yards against Troy. His 134 yards receiving were the most receiving yards by a North Texas wide receiver since 2008 when Casey Fitzgerald had 231 yards against Louisiana-Lafayette.
The Mean Green is looking for its first two-game winning streak since 2004. North Texas hasn't won consecutive league games since 2004 either. Since 2005, North Texas has a record of 0-16 when coming off a win.
With a win against WKU, North Texas will have a perfect month of November with a record of 2-0. The Mean Green hasn't recorded an unbeaten month since November of 2004. North Texas has already guaranteed its first non-losing month of football since November of 2004.
Quarterback Derek Thompson completed 31 passes against Troy and had only seven incompletions, good for a completion percentage of 81.6. That is the best single game completion percentage by a North Texas quarterback in school history.
