NEXT GAME: North Texas faces the fourth game in its seven-game road swing at the University of Texas on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday was Kedrick Hogans’ 100th career collegiate game, and he racked up his 83rd and 84th career blocks. The senior ranks third in school history in career blocks, and needs 14 more to catch his former teammate Quincy Williams for second. The game was his second straight with two blocks.
- Niko Stojiljkovic earned his first career start against the Bulldogs. The junior from Paris, France tallied five points and a career-high eight rebounds.
- North Texas went without a field goal for a 10:25 span of the first half, and Mississippi State capitalized with a 32-7 run. NT allowed a 32-0 run at UT Arlington earlier in the week.
- North Texas hit four 3-pointers in the first half (Walton, A. Williams, Jones & Norris), which is a season high. The last time NT hit four from downtown in the first half was against Western Kentucky in last year’s Sun Belt Tournament semifinals.
- North Texas is 1-24 all-time against SEC opponents, and 0-2 against Mississippi State. The only other meeting in the series came in 1972 – a 66-65 MSU win in Monroe, La.
- After the loss to No. 24 Mississippi State, North Texas is 5-91 all-time against AP ranked opponent. NT’s last win over a ranked opponent came in 1971 (79-73 over No. 15 Louisville).
