Thompson Seals West Win in NABC All-Star Game

HOUSTON- North Texas senior Tristan Thompson hit a driving floater in the paint with 49 seconds left to seal a 113-108 victory for the West All-Stars in the 2011 Reese's College All-Star Game at Reliant Stadium.
Thompson, representing the Mean Green in the NABC event, scored 8 points in 15 minutes of play. Thompson went 3-9 shooting, and the 83.4% free throw shooter made both of his attempts in the game. Thompson grabbed two boards and two steals in the contest. Thompson made two baskets in the last 2:07 of the game, adding a driving layup to his slashing bucket that represented the eventual game-winner.
The game was the finale of the Final Four Friday festivities at Reliant Stadium, which drew 16,213 fans. Kenneth Faried of Morehead State was named the game's MVP for the West All-Stars, with 17 points and 18 rebounds.
