DENTON, Texas - The first installment of the North Texas Coaches Caravan kicked off Tuesday night at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Denton with over 100 Mean Green fans in attendance to hear from Dan McCarney, Johnny Jones and Brad Stracke.
Mean Green play-by-play man George Dunham emceed the event, while members of the Mean Green Club and athletic department staff were on hand to answer questions about the new Mean Green Stadium.
Tuesday was the first of five Coaches Caravans, each of which features family-friendly activities at each stop, and are free and open to the public. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are provided, as well as a cash bar.
The caravans are designed to strengthen the connection between Mean Green fans and the athletic department as part of the Volunteer Representative Program launched this past January. The Volunteer Representative Program has over 50 volunteers who give their time and act as a liaison between the athletic department and Mean Green fans across the state of Texas.
