No. 62 - Khoury Nails NT's Longest Field Goal
A windy day in Richmond, Va., in 1977 saw North Texas kicking legend Iseed Khoury set a school record that will be tough to break.
Khoury, who had already attempted and fell just short on a 66-yard field goal earlier in the game, lined-up another kick from the opponent's side of the field. This time, Iseed nailed the 62-yard kick and set the school record for longest field goal made.
"Before the game I was kicking from 60 and 62 yards and felt comfortable," Khoury said. "I always knew I could kick one like that."
Khoury would go on and hit a 57-yard field goal later in the season, which still stands as the third longs FG in school history.
He is tied for second for extra points in a season with 37 PAT's in the 1977 season, as well as third for career made extra points with 70.
One of two North Texas kickers to have a perfect 1.000 kicking percentage on extra points in a season and at one point made 60 in a row in his career.
