Located in Lviv, Ukraine, Politekhnika-Halychyna plays in the country's highest division, and Odufuwa is slated to report on August 1.
"I just want to thank God for the opportunity to play at the next level," Odufuwa said. "I always had this goal since I was a little kid, so I'm just going to go over there and give it everything I have."
Odufuwa was the most dominant paint presence in the Sun Belt over the last two seasons, averaging a double-double with 11.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game over his last 65 outings. He was rewarded with an All-Sun Belt Conference selection in 2010, and All-Sun Belt Tournament honors in 2010 and 2011.
The Dallas native is just the second player in Mean Green history to post a pair of 300-rebound seasons, and he finished his career No. 4 in school history in career boards with 896. He also ranks sixth in school history with 70 career blocks and ninth with a career 54.4 shooting percentage.
"I'm excited for George that he is about to start his professional career," said North Texas head coach Johnny Jones. "Any team that he has the opportunity to be apart of will be very fortunate, not only because of his basketball skills, but because he is such a quality person."
Not just a stellar athlete, Odufuwa excelled in the classroom as well. An ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District selection, he graduated with a degree in economics prior to the start of his senior season.
