New Setter, Libero, No Problem For Volleyball

DENTON, Texas – A couple of freshmen vaulted themselves into the lineup as North Texas cruised to a sweep of Jackson State at the Mean Green Volleyball Classic on Saturday afternoon (25-18, 27-25, 25-20).
In just her second start at setter Liz Powell paced the Mean Green (8-5) offense to a .255 attack percentage with a season-high 40 assists. Addason Lamb, a freshman defensive specialist, saw her first action at libero in the final set and racked up nine digs in the frame.
Courtney Windham and Eboni Godfrey teamed up to take on the bulk of the NT offense, registering 14 and 13 kills. Christine Edwards led Jackson State (4-7) with a match-high 16 kills.
North Texas returns to action tonight at 7 p.m. against Kennesaw State to close out the Mean Green Volleyball Classic.
