Ellis is a two-time all-district selection....As a senior, Ellis was named to the 15-3A first-team after racking up 45 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, three sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery...He was named to the first team-all-district....Ellis earned second team All-District 15-3A honors as a junior....In 2011, Ellis had 49 tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, one sack, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown. A multi-sport star, Ellis ran a 21.60 200-meter dash and finished third at the regional track meet in 2012.
