DENTON, Texas -
For the third straight year North Texas women's golfer Chaslyn Chrismer has been named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team for 2012-13. Chrismer, entering her senior year, has been recognized with this prestigious honor for 2010-11 and 2011-12.
"I am really proud of Chaz, she is by definition a great student/athlete," said head coach Jeff Mitchell. "She works hard in the classroom and gives 100 percent in her golf, too. She makes coaching fun."
Chrismer, a kinesiology major, had the second lowest stroke average on the team this year and had a season-best finish of third at the Islander Spring Classic.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent (Division I) or 66 percent (Division II & III) of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
